Our solutions for eye care applications include formulations used in contact lenses that are replaced at regular intervals, and intraocular lenses that are permanent artificial lenses implanted after cataract surgery.
We can engineer additional properties onto the siloxane backbone with different functional groups – acrylates, methacrylates, fluorinated compounds – that can control molecular weight, crosslinking, and product viscosity; or provide some other mechanical attribute for the medical device such as stiffness, tear strength, refractive index, hydrophilicity, etc.
