Nanoparticles
Nanotechnology has been referred to as potentially being the next technical revolution that could change the modern world. A large portion of the diverse realm of nanotechnology is the manipulation of matter on the atomic scale, with at least one dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometers (nm). Important nanoparticle physical parameters include size, shape, surface properties including charge, dispersion state, and crystallinity. A wide range of analytical techniques are used to quantify these properties.
Quick Links
We are well suited with analytical solutions that will help you prepare proper nanoparticle samples that generate the most accurate and repeatable results. Our Nicomp® DLS (dynamic light scattering) system is well suited for making the mean size and zeta potential measurements of submicron abrasives. The AccuSizer® SPOS (single particle optical sizing) system is the preferred technique for determining LPC tails in abrasives and final CMP slurries.
Nanoparticles and Vaccine Production
Many new vaccines are messenger RNA (mRNA) and are delivered via nanoparticles in the form of lipid nanoparticle encapsulation. To determine concentration and proper synthesis for effective lipid nanoparticle delivery, quantitation and sizing are required. These are critical qualification requirements particularly with new COVID-19 mRNA vaccines. Our particle sizing technologies can accurately and rapidly measure both quantity and size to meet these urgent needs.
