Design, creation and validation of a semi-automated workflow for therapeutics cells expansion, harvest and final fill
Scaling CGT has become commonplace, but contamination remains a concern. In this presentation from Entegris, Field Applications Technologist Julien Muzard will demonstrate the design, building, and validation of a closed-system MSC expansion process transferable to any BSL-2 lab, either on-field or in a clinical setting. Using off-the-shelf consumables and standard lab equipment, producers will be able to scale safely and in a cost-effective manner.

Julien is a French biotechnologist with a PhD from Paris-Diderot. After postdoctoral training in single molecule nanobiophysics and computational biology, Julien continued his career at the Center of Molecular Innovation in Dublin and the Molecular Foundry in California. He returned to Europe in 2015 to further establish his career in bionanotechnology, helping to develop the FDA-approved drug Glenzocimab. He joined Entegris in 2021.

This process can shorten seed train by several weeks. HDCB allows high cell concentrations in larger volumes to be stored at -80°C for limited periods or in liquid nitrogen vapor for extended periods.
