Entegris and Spectrum Materials Celebrate New China Manufacturing Facility and Initial Product Shipment With Grand Opening Ceremony

Entegris becomes first international specialty materials company to manufacture in China

BILLERICA, Mass. – August 16, 2017Entegris Inc. (NASDAQ: ENTG), a leading specialty materials provider, along with Spectrum Materials (Fujian) Co., Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of specialty chemicals, celebrated the first milestone of their partnership in China yesterday with a Grand Opening ceremony for Spectrum’s new chemical manufacturing facility in the town of Quanzhou in the Fujian Province. With the partnership, Entegris continues to strengthen its presence in China, as the celebration marked the launch of the product manufacturing operations for specialty gas products used in semiconductor manufacturing processes. Entegris is the first international materials company to locally produce specialty gas products to support the growing semiconductor market in China and, as of this announcement, the first qualified gas products from the facility are in the process of being shipped to local customers.

“This collaboration is part of our on-going plan to best serve our Chinese customers through local production and technical support to meet their needs for manufacturing and process development,” stated Entegris Chief Operating Officer, Todd Edlund at the Grand Opening event. “Our partnership with Spectrum Materials has created a world-class facility for the production of our specialty chemicals products in China.”

Founder, chairman and CEO of Spectrum Materials, Guofu Chen, who kicked off the event, noted, “We have worked very closely with the Entegris team to deliver this building expansion and launch manufacturing operations. I am proud to say that, together, we met all expectations and timelines to commercialize this effort.”

The ceremony began with introductory and welcome speeches by Guofu Chen and Todd Edlund. Approximately 100 V.I.P. guests attended the event, including a number of Entegris customers, prominent local government and industry officials, and the media.

Overall, the Spectrum Materials Quanzhou facility is 55,000 m2 in size (13.6 acres), includes two Class 2.3 and dangerous goods warehouses and more than 20 electronic gas packaging, purification and synthesis process centers. This facility will enable domestic manufacturing of the world’s most advanced semiconductor ion implant materials, while creating local job opportunities. The facility is located at Darong Village, YongChun Perfecture, Quanzhou City, Fujian , China.
